Daniil Medvedev defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the 2023 US Open on Friday, 7-6 (3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, to set up a rematch of the 2021 final against Novak Djokovic.

Medvedev was in control for most of the match, but Alcaraz showed flashes of his brilliance, particularly in the third set.

However, Medvedev was able to weather the storm and eventually close out the victory. This will be the third time that Medvedev and Djokovic have met in a Grand Slam final.

Djokovic won the first meeting at the 2021 US Open, while Medvedev won the second meeting at the 2022 Australian Open.

Medvedev won 75% of his first serve points and 62% of his second serve points. He also hit 37 winners, compared to 28 for Alcaraz.
